Problems Saving and Accepting Outlook Meetings

1) When I try to accept a meeting, it says ”The function cannot be performed because the message has been changed.”

This seems to mean that someone else on the invitation is has it open and is accepting or otherwise messing with it. Waiting a half-hour to accept it almost always works.

2) When I try to save changes to a meeting I created in my manager’s calendar, it says something along the lines of “The item cannot before saved because the item has been changed. Would you like to save to the default folder?”

Give up. Close without saving and re-do your changes. Saving to the default will put it on your calendar, not your manager’s. Frustrating, but there’s no other way out of this one.

OK, well, maybe one. In some versions of Outlook and on some networks, you can go ahead and say “yes” to saving the invitation to the default folder – your calendar. Now copy it (just click on the meeting and hit “Control C” or “Command C” (Windows or Mac) and paste it into your manager’s calendar (Command or Control V). Don’t spend a lot of time on it.
